Not this season.
This season one contestant will have me watching A.I. each and every week. One contestant whose solo performance on Thursday night took my breath away. One contestant whose song has been in my head all day long.
That would be this contestant...

18 year-old Angela Miller from Beverly, Massachusetts stole the show this week with her performance of her original song, "You Set Me Free".
What's equally impressive as her writing skills, her musical talent on the piano, her vocal abilities, is her determination not to let a disability keep her down! Angela has 40% hearing loss in one ear and 20% hearing loss in the other.
On Angela's Facebook page, which has exploded since her solo performance this week, she gives credit to Psalm 81 as her inspiration for the song. This Pastor's kid sure has some serious talent!!
This is a beautiful song. I've plastered Facebook and Twitter with it, sent it to my sister to listen to and she said it is like having a spiritual bath. I can't wait to get ahold of it so I too, as Keith Urban says, can listen to it in my car.
The lessons I've learned from Angie as I've listed to this song at least a dozen times today alone... don't let anything hold you back from fulfilling your destiny. Don't give up or give in when challenges pop up in your way. Don't allow what may seem as limitations dictate what you will do with your life!
And best of all, for me... God comes with open arms and loves us for who we are. He sets us free from the baggage of hard times! Ps. 81:6
Take a listen, tell me what you think.

Follow her on Twitter and check out her Website - I hope someone gives this girl a mega awesome recording contract!

She is AMAZING, she stole the show last night.
ReplyDeleteShe seems to have the full package, great voice and great heart.
DeleteTo have context for this song now (knowing that she's a Christian/PK, etc) has made that song SO much more meaningful. It was amazing when I watched it. I loved it. I just pray she doesn't lose herself in this contest.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine knows her family very well. I hope she wins it!!
DeleteOh my goodness. I have not been watching this year because my nights are full of work. But she has a beautiful voice and she looks gorgeous. I love to see contestants who really deserve it competing and excelling at it.
ReplyDeletesame here, she has true talent, on all sides.
DeleteI did see the song she wrote and performed and was amazed. That is true talent!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree!
DeleteBeautiful talent! I don't actually watch tv, but I do catch a few clips online sometimes. I'm sure she will go far with the amazing gift that she has.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the show but youtubed it! I love when a singer gives me chills...and she definitely did!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched American Idol in so long, but no wonder you're tuning in every week, what a powerful soulful voice she has. Absolutely checking out her Facebook page!
ReplyDeleteShe has a great voice
ReplyDeleteI love Angela Miller. She is one of my top three favorites this season so far and she won me over with her bravery during the last part of Hollywood Week. Her original song and performance blew me away which means that I’ll be voting for her when the live shows start. I saw a short clip of her performance this week in my office at DISH and as always she’s amazing! I sure hope that America votes for her but either way she’s already a star. I didn’t get to see the newest episode of American Idol this week but I plan on catching up on the train ride home tonight. Thanks to the Hopper and DISH Anywhere I can turn my iPad into a TV and catch up on what I’ve missed. Whether it’s live TV or recorded, I can watch anything, anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI live in South Africa and watch American Idol and dont miss it like never!Angie is my Idol, she is unbelievalble behind the piano and her voice so angelic, I would buy her music today as long as it includes her piano. If Angie is an Angel her Piano is her wings and buy saying that sky the limit! go angie!!!
